An Appeal from Auschwitz

We believe that growing hatred may undermine reaching a solution to burning conflicts; hence, we are convinced that giving hope and presenting good is desirable.

After the outbreak of war in Lebanon, some circles connected with Auschwitz, dedicated to spreading information about the Auschwitz tragedy and prevention of new ones, issued an appeal calling for propagating information about all positive actions related to dialogue and cooperation, particularly in countries of the Middle East.

We are convinced that growing hatred may inhibit all rational political actions and finding of a solution to the conflicts. Hence, it is necessary to present good and give hope, despite destructive actions of groups and media that feed on them.

This appeal became more of a topical issue, because we again deal with violate polemics and demonstrations connected with one of the quotes from a lecture by Pope Benedict XVI addressed to German professors, rising the fundamental problem of relation of faith to reason, critical also of some of the great Christian thinkers.

The Auschwitz circles already witnessed a number of provocations, which intended to create or fuel conflicts; however, their experiences are also very positive, and the latter are worth presenting. Hence, today we publish some of them, asking for more - for spreading them and for forwarding to us at least some of such positive examples.
